What with Mr.Muntadhar al-Zaidi's trail-blazing form of protest, many think it is a good idea to throw shoes at politicians. When, at a gathering, you see a politician confronted with a goggle-eyed person with a designer-shoe, you can put two and two together and wait for the event to unfold. It's not so much a matter of "will it?" than "when?". So much so, a common dialogue, in many political meetings is this:

Potential-Shoe-thrower: Hey, Mr. Bigwig-Politician seems to be at a shoe's throw away from us. Let's throw shoe at him, what?
Another-potential-Shoe-thrower: Absolutely!

And, just like that, we have another shoe-thrower claiming his fifteen minutes of fame. And our TV news channels lap it up with their "Breaking News" running: "Shoes thrown at Mr. Bigwig-Politician", as if it is scientific marvel to happen. (On a sidenote, Indian TV News channels are the only ones to think a Cricket team winning or losing a TOSS in a match to be considered as "Breaking News". Never mind there are people dying of starvation, there are many farmers ending it all unable to repay the loan, but we will go on the freak show called "Breaking News" that isn't so "Breaking" at all.)

In this troubled days of slowdown, if there is someone doing brisk business must be shoemakers.

I am all for throwing shoes at politicians, as long as it is someone's else shoe thrown by somebody else at some corrupt politician.

Now that Freddie Flintoff (who many people believe is an author, poet, and universally-acclaimed economist, and famous Aussie humiliator, born in the 28th century but returned to the present using a time machine to help the ailing English cricket team achieve immortality) is out with injury, many think CSK will have it tough in the days to come.
